In this role, you will manage and coordinate accounting, finance, and financial compliance functions for the Northwest Region by overseeing the processes and controls for 9 operating companies across 4 states (WA, OR, ID, MT). From coordinating with internal and external auditors and conducting internal training, to managing various reports and participating in month- and year-end close, you’ll play an integral part as we stand together to reinvent the way our world is built.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Acts as a liaison with external and internal auditors; coordinating, organizing, and supporting auditor requests.
  • Ensures accounting activities are compliant with AMAT, West Division, and Northwest policy, practice, and internal controls (SOX).
  • Maintains SOX and other Internal Control documents, coordinates compliance efforts and provides education and support.
  • Monthly fraud and theft reporting.
  • Managing annual reporting, including, but not limited to: IAS 37, mineral reserves reporting, census reporting, property management system updates, OFI reporting.
  • Assists with monthly financial close and reporting activities.
  • Assists in the preparation and management review of monthly financial statements, annual budgets, and re-forecasts.
  • Performs/reviews balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assists in special reporting and analysis.
  • Assists with acquisition setup, integration, and reporting.
  • Actively seeks, communicates, and participates in process improvement opportunities.
  • Champions efforts to improve working capital.
  • Travel throughout the NW Region as needed.

  • Willing and able to train others to varied levels of proficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related.
  • 4+ years related experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships with individuals at all levels internally and externally, and to work with teams as both a leader and a participant.
  • Strong project management skills including the ability to lead projects and prioritize among multiple requirements and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication (oral, written) and presentation skills.
  • High standard of ethics, integrity, and trust.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to deal with ambiguity and facilitate change.
  • Must pass pre-employment controlled-substance testing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Accounting experience in the construction and/or manufacturing industry.
  • CPA, CFE, or CMA.
  • SQL Query Experience.

  • Must be able to travel to site locations occasionally.

  • Ability to be a self-starter and able to operate under general guidelines.
  • Leadership skills; motivating others, coaching, delegation, team building and conflict management.
