Job Description: Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting for all parent businesses listed below. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Accounting Manager supervises the accounting staff and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities, including general ledger preparation, inventory reporting, financial reporting and analysis, year-end tax and monthly audits, the support of budget and forecast activities and preparation of Key Performance Indicators. The Accounting Manager will have contact with all employees, and service providers including tax accountants and other professional service providers.

Direct reports include one payroll and AP person, one Virtual Assistant contractor who is responsible for business reporting, AP, and other duties. Additionally, the successful candidate will direct our external bookkeeping service, and our tax accounting and CPA service.

Duties:

• Plan, implement and supervise the company’s financial strategy
• Manage the company’s financial accounts, payrolls, budget, cash receipts and financial assets
• Handle the company’s transactions and debts and do cash flow forecasting
• Perform the company’s financial oversight
• Follow proper accounting procedures to reach financial objectives
• Monitor and analyze financial accounting data
• Create financial reports based on data analysis
• Make recommendations to business owner

A successful Accounting Manager candidate will have various prerequisite skills and qualifications needed for the job duties.

Must have…

• Two or more years of work experience as Accounting Manager or Finance Manager
• Great interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and relationship-building skills;team player with a positive, can-do approach
• Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy
• Ability to direct and supervise
• Ability to multi-task and to work independently with minimal supervision
• Commitment to protecting privacy, and discretion, as appropriate

Should have…

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Proven work experience as Accounting Manager, Finance Manager or Controller
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases, preferably QuickBooks Online and A2X
• Ability to quickly learn and use new software applications
• Ability to apply self to learning and applying technical skills
• Experience working in a paperless environment strongly preferred

• Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
• Superior data management and data analysis skills
• Positive telephone, email and other communication skills as contact with employees, service providers and others will be extensive and ongoing

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,361.66 - $65,000.00 per year
