Summary/Objective

The Accounting and Subsistence manager is responsible for all food service accounting and subsistence functions as prescribed by the Performance Work Statement (PWS).

Essential Functions

1. Directs the acquisition, accounting, and documentation of all food items used in support of the Sheppard AFB food service facilities.

2. Serves as technical advisor to contract manager on food service accounting, Air Force CAFÉ system, and STORES web.

3. Verifies accounting data and submits accurate reports to Sheppard AFB food service division.

4. Trains subsistence personnel and operational facilities personnel in accounting / subsistence procedures.

5. Allocates and controls dining hall cash collection accounts.

6. Produces and maintains all food service accounting documentation to the standards of the PWS.

7. Establishes and maintains subsistence requirement data for coordination with prime vendor.

8. Designs and maintains the menu boards for display in the dining facilities.

9. Confirms financial billings (SF 1080) with dining hall receipts at the end of each month.

10. Responsible for ordering, controlling, and accounting for MRE’s

Supervisory Responsibility

This position is responsible for the supervision and oversight of the Accounting and Subsistence department employees, including the Subsistence clerk(s), and the Subsistence truck driver. This position is responsible for the performance management, discipline, and hiring of the employees within the department.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, cash registers, related software and hardware, and fax machines. This job also operates in the operational facilities and while performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Pay: $43,300.00 - $65,000.00 per year
