Our Accountant position is a key role in supporting the transition from a successful family business into a high growth global leader in our niche medical device market. The professional we seek will perform many of the accounting transactions from accounts payable including payments, purchase order/inventory receipt/voucher discrepancy resolution, accounts receivable, cash receipts, payroll, banking and month end preparation. This is a key role in our accounting department that demands ownership over the department, yet it will enable the right person to fully understand the complexity of running an organization. The ideal future team member will have several years of accounting experience that includes general ledger journal entries, GAAP Accounting and month end preparation. This position will require on site location in our Wayland and Iowa City offices for approximately 3-6 months before considering hybrid.

NOTE - this position is for MD Orthopaedics, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of OrthoPediatrics - and is located at the Wayland, Iowa facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Accounts Payables, apply cash to Accounts Receivable.
• General Ledger, Bank Reconciliation, Cash Management and Banking portal knowledge.
• Perform payroll transmission with outside Payroll Service and make necessary entries to G/L.
• Monthly Reconciliations to Bank, Asset and Liability accounts per GAAP.
• Create preliminary Financials for End of Month review and reporting process.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by Director of Finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, preferred.
• 1-3 years GAAP accounting experience.
• General Monthly Closing procedural experience to produce Balance Sheet and P & L.
• Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of MS Office suite, advanced excel skills required, basic e-mail, copy, computer, fax skills.
• Must be able to multi-task and organize daily job duties.
• Must get along well with others.
• Must be detail-oriented.

Schedule

• Full-time, 4 day work week (Mon-Thurs 7:00-5:00). This position will require on site location in our Wayland and Iowa City offices for approximately 3-6 months before considering hybrid.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

• Indoor, climate-controlled environment
• Occasional lifting of boxes up to 50 pounds
